The Buffalo Bills announced Monday that they released quarterback Matt Flynn.
The team signed Flynn in October after injuries to rookie quarterback EJ Manuel (knee) and Thad Lewis (rib). Flynn did not appear in a game for Buffalo.
Flynn has thrown for 1,329 yards with 10 touchdowns and six interceptions, and has made three career starts. He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2008 and has also played for the Seattle Seahawks (2012) and Oakland Raiders (2013).
Manuel was cleared to practice on Monday but may still need a couple more weeks before he can play.
The Bills filled the roster spot by signing fullback Evan Rodriguez. A fourth-round draft choice of the Chicago Bears in 2012, Rodriguez made four catches for 21 yards in 12 games last season. He was released by the Miami Dolphins in training camp this year
